Biography
Peter C. Hsueh has broad experience in preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications and copyright registrations. His practice emphasizes prosecuting high technology patent applications, primarily in electrical, electronic, optical, materials and software arts. He was formerly a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Judge Robert Takasugi, U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
He has particular technical expertise in the fields of biotechnology, business methods, chemistry, computers and networking, defense and security technology, display technology, electrical engineering, electronics, life sciences, materials science, nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, medical devices, nanotechnology, oil, gas and energy, optics, physics, semiconductors, software and telecommunications.

- Built dominant patent portfolios in the display field for a major multinational corporation. The most extensive of these portfolios relate to: (I) plasma display panels; (II) organic light emitting diodes; and (III) electron emission devices.
- Obtained patent portfolios in the material science and energy field for a major multinational corporation. The most extensive of these portfolios relate to fuel cells and solar cells.
- Obtained patents in the defense and security fields for major U.S. research laboratories and aerospace companies.
- Successfully defended a major Taiwanese company in a patent infringement dispute involving computer drive accessories.
- Counseled a medium-sized corporation in the establishment of an internal intellectual property policy, including procedures for identifying patentable inventions.
- Conducted due diligence for a biometrics solutions company headquartered, in its formation, spin-off from a major multinational electronics company and initial financing.
- Successfully built, defended, and policed important trademark portfolios.
