Biography
David A. Plumley has eighteen years experience in intellectual property law. His practice focuses in transactional patent and trademark prosecution both domestic and international.
Prior to joining Christie, Parker & Hale, Mr. Plumley spent nine years as an engineer in the oil industry, first gaining hands-on engineering experience in petroleum refining, and then holding positions in business and environmental planning departments with Unocal Corporation. He uses his expertise in energy technologies to help clients protect their innovations in the fields of alternative energy and clean fuel technology. In particular, Mr. Plumley has assisted clients in fuel cell technology, secondary batteries, solar cell technology, biodiesel, hydrogen fuel, natural gas, and fuel additives. He also has extensive experience in medical device technology and electronics manufacturing.
In addition to his patent work, Mr. Plumley maintains a significant trademark practice, and has helped his clients protect and enforce their trademark rights in the U.S. and abroad. He has assisted a number of international clients in cost-effectively managing their large international trademark portfolios.
